FYI: I've never observed my USB3 EtherNet dongle failing to start
on the original-vintage 8 GiByte RPi5 that I have access to.

If it is new, it might be a 2712d0 instead of a 2712c1 --so the
*.dtb file used might be distinct from the original one.
