Are you on 8.x or 9? I think this is due to a known issue [1]. Alexander Motin has patches for 9-CURRENT [2] that fix the issue for me (and others). He hasn't had time to clean up the patches for committal to the tree, and the patches may no longer cleanly apply -- I haven't re-patched since my last few updates.
