It turned out I forgot to add a cast somewhere, which caused the file descriptor to be moved by 2^32 - 197 bytes forward, instead of 197 backward. It only occurs on 32 bit platforms. If you rebuild and reinstall world, the files should be automatically truncated upon reboot, because the utmpx code notices this form of file corruption. --=20 Ed Schouten WWW: http://80386.nl/ --79VAcntGpWtJGd4r Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (FreeBSD) iEYEARECAAYFAktPTKYACgkQ52SDGA2eCwXpeACfcLl+zQpy+44O+i81PdxqRZwp Xt4AniM2n7r1AIGnjE5AIRSzX7+ovp8x =nWUo -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --79VAcntGpWtJGd4r--
