2Gb of RAM in my machine, and top reports:

74 processes:  1 running, 73 sleeping
CPU:  3.9% user,  0.0% nice,  4.5% system,  0.2% interrupt, 91.3% idle
Mem: 949M Active, 110M Inact, 266M Wired, 78M Cache, 96M Buf, 586M Free
Swap: 4096M Total, 10M Used, 4086M Free
