To remind My attempts to boot the generic distribution kernel have to date foundered on a kernel panic message - fatal trap 9- general protection fault while in kernel mode. (instruction pointer was at 0x8:0xf01aad71). Can you confirm that the kernel has been tested against this cpu type, and suggest a way forward. The motherboard may also be relevant - its a VX Pro PCI board UMC8670 - with an award 4.51 BIOS & miro 12pd svga card - 8MB of fp ram. 32 MB of edo. netcard (NE2000 clone), 130MB ide disk and b*** all else (floppy, cd-rom are on 486 server) -- robert w hall To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
