Subject: Anybody working on RTL8125 (2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet) support?

Many AMD B550 mainboards have been released with RTL8125 Ethernet chips,
which are not yet supported in -CURRENT, AFAIK.

Is anybody working on extending the RTL8111 driver to support that chip?

I'm in the process of building a system that comes with said Ethernet
controller and while I can just install an additional PCI-E card, I'd
ultimately of course want to use the on-board Ethernet.

I just found a driver on the realtek.com web-site that is based on an
older version of RE from Bill Paul.

That should be a good source of information for an updated RE driver,
which uses the evolved data structures of our current version. For a
start, I'd be happy if it just worked as a 1000baseTX device (and I do
not expect to have a 2.5 Gbit/s capable switch anytime soon.

If nobody else is going to work on this, I'll start this project, but
my system will not be ready for testing before the end of July.

Regards, STefan
