No. MFS is great for /tmp filesystems, with transient files (eg, cc intermediate files). With a disc based filesystem you will have the "overheads" of creating and removing directory entries at least. For a normal FreeBSD user the management headache boils down to something like this in /etc/fstab: /dev/sd0s2b /tmp mfs rw 0 0 and "options MFS" in their kernel configuration.
