Oh - my fault. No, isdntest has no config file. Probably isdntest needs
to be updated to set the timeout correctly - or it has to be removed ...

Ok, then the cause is in the use of isdntest.

This is true.

Then all (better: most of) the low-level stuff works.

Then there is another problem with your local setup.

It must not. With ppp-connection, do you mean the modem-ppp connection ?
