Greetings! A pleasant day to you all. i'm pretty much new to freebsd, and i am having a few problems with its installation. sirst, the setup: i have two hard drives, w/ win95 & linux installed on it. the second drive is dedicated to freebsd. i installed via (bootable) CDROM, and went on with the instalation without any problems. To enable multibooting win95/linux/freebsd, i modified the lilo.conf and ran lilo again. i was able to boot the freebsd partition, but the kernel seems to look for the root partition on wd1s1a(in my case, tht should be something like wd2a/wd2s1a, right?) more accurately, the message was mounting root partition on wd1s1a.... : kernel panic: cannot mount root : ....automatic reboot in 15 seconds... i browsed thru the handbook(under kernel config) and remade the kernel with the 'config kernel root on wd2' option....i booted linux again, ran lilo once/twice, same result. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
