Hmm, does this mean, that the SCSI LED stays on, but there is no further disk activity anymore ? This could be caused by problems with tags or with the SCSI bus. Could you try running without tags for some time ? And you may want to use async transfers only, just to test whether it makes a difference (and if it does, I'd suspect a cable/termination problem). Since I'm going on a vacation for two weeks now, I can't look into this, now. But I'm planning to improve the error recovery code thereafter ...
