My findings (neither knowing Perl nor Ruby are): - The Perl driver seems to build ok. - The Ruby driver seems to build ok, once you remove the lib dependency from the Makefile. But I haven't tried actually using these libraries. Also, devel/lemon can now IMO die, as its only purpose was to build SQLite 1.x.
