The mass email was triggered because of a forgotten monitoring script that was confused by every port returning the same, empty, value for LATEST_LINK. Every port maintainer would have received a similar email, which served no purpose whatsoever (other than to reveal a number of maintainer e-mail accounts that didn't work any more) and which everyone should simply ignore.
