... it's quite possible that the huge rash of changes in -current cover
some of what you've done, but if all you were to do was send what you have
to Peter or Soren I'm quite sure they'd be happy to pick them over.

What is it you actually want?  I presume when you say 'hardware address of
an interface' you're looking for the ethernet MAC address?

Look at /usr/src/usr.bin/netstat/if.c for a relatively simple example
of how to do it from userland.
