I develop with maven/netbeans/openjdk in Java and Groovy on FreeBSD 9. That works. There is no profiler support in netbeans. And the JVM can't request huge memory page (may be this is fixed in 10?), so it could perform better : http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/tech/largememory-jsp-137182.html Java is much slower than other apps when the box is busy (building a world for example) but I'm not sure if this specific to FreeBSD. (I have litle success with Eclipse on the past, I don't use it) Regards.
