Subject:   hard drive crashes related to maxtor 60 gigs.

at first thinking the problem was related to software, I posted to this
mailing list getting lots of replies back.  It appears to me as though the
maxtor 60 gig harddrive is defective, it likes to overheat.  I am running
a 15 gig drive (maxtor) very well on udma66 mode.  I have kept the ide
cables the same and turned my 60 gig down to pio4 mode.  I don't get any
errors and nothing seems to be overheating.
