That's why X is an exception to the normal dependency handling. :-)

Come'on!  Read the COMMENT, at least!  That one's claim to fame
is that it _doesn't_ require X.  In fact, I just fixed it to work
on (my) IDE cdroms, and added a nifty pause function.  Above and
beyond the call of a porter!  (Ah, but I'm not just a porter, I'm
also a user! ;)

Hm.  I'm not so sure about xemacs.  It might work without X,
actually....  Don't bother trying---it's still emacs, either way. ;)
