I noticed on the card it said "Promise"; so a Maxtor card is a Promise card. It installed ok and it found it during boot-up except for one problem. It haults because it can't mount to /. List valid disk boot devices Abort manual input mountroot> How do I fix this??? Nothing I type at the mountroot> prompt does anything. I can even ls and see the directory listing. I searched the archives and a few people asked the same questions with minimal response. I know there is an answer.
