It seems that ftp.freebsd.org does load balancing and not all servers are in sync. I have repeatedly downloaded: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-7-stable/INDEX And there seem to be 2 versions around, one from February 27 and one from March 06. I have a shell script that connects to the ftp via netcat and compares the age of the file to a local copy. If the local copy is outdated a fetch is started. Nice idea to safe traffic, but useless if you get the same outdated file, because servers are not in sync.
