Both are running FreeBSD 4.7-RELEASE and WindowMaker as windowmanager. The Intel has a Matrox G400max and the Alpha has a Matrox G450. Strange thing is that if I use Gimp to work with pictures or Acrobat to use pdf's, the Alpha is much slower than the Intel. It really takes a lot of time to load a pdf (not to mention scrolling through it), while on de Intel they open in a flash. Does anyone know why this is? Is there a way to make graphics performance better on the Alpha? Marco -- Great minds run in great circles.
