Where is my CVSROOT? I seem to need it for making release (of 4.0 on a 4.0 system, current as of Oct 24). I checked the archives of this list. My question did pop up a few times before in the same context.... but was not answered. Make release starts OK, but stops complaining there is no CVSROOT. There isn't on my system. I checked. My cvsup-file reads: *default tag=. *default host=cvsup2.nl.freebsd.org *default prefix=/usr *default base=/usr/local/etc/cvsup *default release=cvs delete use-rel-suffix compress src-crypto src-eBones src-secure src-all ports-all A page in the handbook says the CVSROOT is what is after prefix. I tried setting that. No go. I tried /usr/src. Same. Can I create this directory CVSROOT myself? And where? And what do I put into it? I do have a directory /usr/src/CVS with files Entries, Repository, Root and Tag. Make world works OK, if that means something in this regard. I am trying to make a release of current to install it on another box. I can of course download a snapshot, but like to save on online time, for which I pay per minute :-( Thanks!
