You cannot strip kernel modules on amd64, because modules are elf object files, as opposed to shared objects on all other archs. Strip strips the object file symbol table, that is used by the static linker and in-kernel linker on amd64. On the other hand, shared object contains also a dynamic symbol table, that is not stripped and used by in-kernel linker on !amd64. --/e2eDi0V/xtL+Mc8 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFGsdILC3+MBN1Mb4gRAgZhAJ9yJNINXkIw3NIt1CnV1Q2SN71UMgCgkpmv hlDFOCFZiw4zb5CHd/JQwqc= =vIs7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --/e2eDi0V/xtL+Mc8--
