I had some problems with large scsi drives.

My solution was to make a small DOS (yeeeeetttcccchhhh!!) partition
on the drive and use the geometry FreeBSD install gave as the default.

It seemed to match the drive, somewhat.

One drive was really 2111/16/63 and DOS listed 1023/32/63.  I felt
comfortable with this because the sectors/track matched.
