[Not attacking Johan specifically]

Can we please drop this thread?  I submitted patches to uname(1)
in Nov 98 to deal with a linux software installation problem.
The discussion is well-documented in the freebsd-hackers mailingr
list archive.  Search on "uname AND kargl" if you want the details.
