But the general gist is: 1. install the linux_base port 2. install the linux_jdk port 3. install the FreeBSD JDK which will require you to manually download the JDK from Sun and then manually download the patchset from http://www.eyesbeyond.com/freebsddom/java/jdk14.html. You need to install the linux JDK first, because is is required to build the FreeBSD JDK from source. Even though http://www.freebsd.org/java/newsflash.html says that the native JDK will be available in January 2002 it doesn't appear that this is yet available.
