Since there is already a JDK 1.2 version for Linux, I don't think my question was out of line. I was direct - trying to save bandwidth. I was curious why JDK 1.2 was not available, and why Java releases for FreeBSD were lagging behind the Linux releases. I received the answers I needed within minutes of posting my questions - in a very professional manner, I might add. And, to the individuals who provided me with that information I am grateful.
