This is not just ping to a locked device but also when I actively use it. I notcied bad response times with an old FreeBSD 11.0-CURRENT r291341, but didn't assume it to be related to the AP and always assumed it to be a problem elsewhere. Now I've added the same device with FreeBSD 12.0-STABLE r345934 at another place, where I also use an OpenWRT based system. And I got the same problem, so I decided to check what is up. This seem to happen when I connect to 2.4G as well as 5G. When I change interface parameters, like -burst, then it works fine for a while. In tcpdump I can see the requests going out on wlan* in time and then suddenly 3 responses. 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57432 ttl=64 time=423.886 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57433 ttl=64 time=2.843 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57434 ttl=64 time=2.794 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57435 ttl=64 time=799.596 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57436 ttl=64 time=69.899 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57437 ttl=64 time=2.625 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57438 ttl=64 time=2.616 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57439 ttl=64 time=2103.796 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57440 ttl=64 time=1102.004 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57441 ttl=64 time=58.303 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57442 ttl=64 time=2.667 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57443 ttl=64 time=2139.433 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57444 ttl=64 time=1108.675 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57445 ttl=64 time=45.615 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57446 ttl=64 time=3.278 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57447 ttl=64 time=2105.579 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57448 ttl=64 time=1100.653 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57449 ttl=64 time=99.660 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57450 ttl=64 time=2.541 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57451 ttl=64 time=2.627 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57453 ttl=64 time=1048.813 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57454 ttl=64 time=2.813 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57455 ttl=64 time=1002.740 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57456 ttl=64 time=2.178 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57457 ttl=64 time=402.965 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57458 ttl=64 time=2.623 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57459 ttl=64 time=2.695 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57460 ttl=64 time=1323.073 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57461 ttl=64 time=305.321 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57462 ttl=64 time=2045.610 ms 64 bytes from 10.1.1.149: icmp_seq=57463 ttl=64 time=1032.034 ms -- B.Walter http://www.bwct.de Modbus/TCP Ethernet I/O Baugruppen, ARM basierte FreeBSD Rechner uvm.
