   * Reduce the size of the INDEX

   * Make the index data directly answer the sort of questions most
     likely to come up in general use.

The latter is, of course, subjective but I think knowing the answers
to both 'what do I need to run this software?' and 'what else do I
need to install this software?' is more useful than what we have at
the moment.
