The first thing I noticed is there was an error output about an invalid argument to the mosquitto binary. The second thing is to try and run this whole command prefixed with "truss", like this: # truss -fa mosquitto -v -c /usr/local/etc/mosquitto/mosquitto.conf The output will be very verbose.
