You were right about a nvidiactl file in /compat/linux/dev, but it still
crashed when running as a regular user. But I can't run ktrace as a regular
user:

$ /bin./sh
$ ulimit -s 8192
$ rm ktrace.out=20
$ ls ktrace.out
ls: ktrace.out: No such file or directory
$ ktrace -i ls
ktrace: ktrace.out: Operation not permitted
