I would say that FreeBSD is about as easy to setup as Debian, depending on your hardware. It does not have a graphical installer ala RedHat or Mandrake. Installing packages is a lot easier by using the ports system, and you generally get binaries optimised for your processor. FreeBSD is also a lot easier to maintain long term. You don't have to manically follow new kernel versions. You upgrade your entire distribution not just the kernel.
