I have a Compaq laptop with a PCMCIA modem (it is not a winmodem). FreeBSD
does not seem to be able to recognize my modem - it won't respond at all to
AT commands.

I get the following messages at bootup:

sio1: configured irq 3 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0x200
	sio1 at 0x2f8-02ff irq3 on isa

my kernel config file has the following:

device sio1 at isa? port "IO_COM2" tty irq 3 vector siointr

Can somebody tell me what the boot message means, and if this could be
related to FreeBSD not being able to recognize my modem?

Thanks,
Mike
