That would be an interesting experiment: don't give it all the pre-requisites so you will never know if it still builds if it had all the pre-requisites. An other reason for this is that somewhere around december there were two huge logfiles (as in: 250Mb) of ports which couldn't be build and tried to be so smart to fetch all the necessary modules from CPAN. Right now these two ports aren't being packaged anymore...
