What is complex is the various journal and soft-updates code that traditional file systems use. But yes it has performance problems in some workloads and needs more cpu/ram than usual. ... All I know is the DOW is down almost 200 pts, so ZFS isn't a real priority = for me right now. Novell v4+ FS was / is the best ever - period! If only they would make it = OSS!
