Use the DOS configuration utility. FreeBSD can't set the vx0's duplex attribute. If you are trying to use it under heavy load, I'd suggest another card also. We're seeing ethernet errors from 3com cards at work (on the switch) which other cards don't seem to be producing in exactly the same setup.
