One warning, -current probably isn't for someone wanting to give FreeBSD "a
try".

If you've got a good network connection, I'd suggest an FTP install of
3.2-Release instead. Just download the two floppies and you're set.

There is an ISO image of the development version of FreeBSD.  The URL is
ftp://current.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ISO/i386/4.0-19990705-CURRENT.  I
have been using it on three different workstations and have had absolutely
no problems.  Its as stable as any Linux Distro ;)
