My system is a bog-standard source install of FreeBSD 11-STABLE, using the
GENERIC kernel configuration.

There should be no special configuration.

It is "caused" by this port only in the sense that the port is trying to cr=
eate
a packing list from a huge list of files, in such a manner that exceeds the
shell's limit on command line arguments.

I don't know where the limit on command line arguments comes from, but ther=
e is
no setting on my system that has specifically limited it to something small=
, or
at least I have not changed anything to reduce the maximum in any way.
