The german telecom is really a monster. Some figures:

basic telephon market (without cable tv, shops etc.)
sales: 20 billion US$
profit: 8 billion US$

(for 4 billion US$ you can buy Sun Microsystems)

credits (whole company): 80 billion US$
credit costs: 6 billion US$
