 * Actually, now that Tcl 8.0 / Tk 8.0 are officially released and now
 * the only "supported" lineage of Tcl/Tk (erm, I mean "Sunscript" :-),
 * shouldn't we be targeting those? Where's the long-term benefit it
 * retrofitting stuff to 7.6 & 4.2, or am I missing something?

None and none. When I sent out the note to -ports and -committers,
tcl80/tk80 were not out of beta, that's why I suggested using
tcl76/tk42 (which were the latest releases at that point). Also,
tcl80 and tk80 ports didn't exist, so it wouldn't have made sense to
ask porters to depend on those.

So, to slightly amend my earlier request: when you port or fix a
tcl/tk port, start testing at tcl80/tk80; continue towards lower
numbers until you find a version that works. That is, 80/80 > 76/42 >
75/41 is the preference order. :)
