Is there a decent - or even *any* - general purpose CAD program out there that I can run under XFree86/FreeBSD? I see a few things in the ports collection, but they seem to be very narrowly-focused applications like SPICE, math stuff and a couple of PCB layout tools. I'm hoping to find something capable of general drafting: mechanical, electronic, architectural, &c., preferably with scripting capabilities and some sort of language interpreter. Actually if truth be told, what I'm really looking for is a drop-in replacement for AutoCAD. (AutoCAD is an expensive but powerful commercial package which used to be very cross-platform, but by now has devolved into an MS-only "solution" and is therefore unacceptable.) Any pointers would be appreciated; freeware is great, but I'm open to the idea of payware if it's not outrageously expensive. For reference, I consider AutoCAD to be outrageously expensive at $US 3750. Thanks very much in advance. -- Chris Hill jchill@dgsys.com [place witty saying here] To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
