Date: Fri, 19 Feb 99 18:37:55 -0800 From: Rahul Dhesi Sender: owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG The following has now happened to me twice, so far. - I boot from floppy and begin a Novice install, either one of the 3.x STABLE snapshots or with 3.1-RELEASE. - Once extraction of binaries begins, I go away and don't come back until some hours later. - When I get back, the extraction has already completed and the machine has rebooted itself. Thus the post-installation configuration (setting timezone etc.) got skipped. It's as if sysinstall waited for me to do something, and eventually timed out and just rebooted the machine.
