I tied it into -multimedia :-) What is the recommended set of flags to use for an AMD K6-III on 3.2-RELEASE? I've got this new AMD-K6-III 400 plugged into my T2P4, and I'm trying to figure out how to maximize FreeBSD's use of it. I noticed: options CPU_WT_ALLOC in LINT. Would I be wise to enable it (i.e. is it stable)? How about NO_MEMORY_HOLE? Also, do I need to do anything to enable Write Combining / MTRRs? I believe my BIOS enables combining by default, but I'm not sure if that carries over across FreeBSD's boot. I recall Amancio talking about how big a win write combining is on a PPro. Is this support in the kernel or is an LKM of some sort (like fastvid) needed?
