Greetings ! Thank you for your work regarding palemoon for FreeBSD. I have for weeks been unable to compile palemoon for FreeBSD RELEASE-12 r34= 1666. I read that a palemoon pkg for FreeBSD CURRENT-13 now exists. Can I use this CURRENT-13 pkg with FreeBSD RELEASE-12 ? If yes,..... how ? If not, the problem with attempting to compile palemoon for FreeBSD RELEASE= -12 is: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ---------------------------------------- ~/www/palemoon/work/Pale-Moon-27.9.4_RELEASE/media/libtheora/lib/arm/armcpu= .c=C2=A0 =C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0= =C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0error:=C2=A0=C2= =A0"Configured to use ARM asm but no CPU detection method is availablefor "= =C2=A0 =C2=A0" your platform [armv7, i.e. Raspberry Pi 2 Model B v 1.1].=C2= =A0Reconfigure with --disable-asm (or send patches)".----------------------= ---------------------------------------------------------------------------= ------- Do such patches exist and if so, where can I download ? No other browser seems usable with RPI2. You= r help would be most appreciated. By the way, I've included the two Makefile changes in my attempts. Discussing it here is fine but help isn't guaranteed. Better ask port maintainer or upstream. > I have for weeks been unable to compile palemoon for FreeBSD RELEASE-12 r341666. When was the last time it built fine for you? On which architecture? > I read that a palemoon pkg for FreeBSD CURRENT-13 now exists. www/palemoon package is available for aarch64, amd64, i386 and broken on armv6, armv7, powerpc64. On -CURRENT after Clang 8 upgrade www/palemoon no longer builds: xpcshell crashes during packaging. > Can I use this CURRENT-13 pkg with FreeBSD RELEASE-12 ? If yes,..... how ? No. Forward compatibility (i.e., with future FreeBSD versions) is not supported. Try the package from 11.2-RELEASE instead but beware that due to ABI changes to support 64-bit inodes and abstime in kqueue palemoon package maybe unstable unless you install library dependencies from 11.2-RELEASE as well. > If not, the problem with attempting to compile palemoon for FreeBSD RELEASE-12 is: > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > ~/www/palemoon/work/Pale-Moon-27.9.4_RELEASE/media/libtheora/lib/arm/armcpu.c > error: "Configured to use ARM asm but no CPU > detection method is availablefor " " your platform [armv7, > i.e. Raspberry Pi 2 Model B v 1.1].
