It could happen for any means of access to those machines, not just SSH or FTP. That nameserver is sending you an 'A' (IPv4) response to a query about an 'AAAA' (IPv6) quantity. Which is simply broken. However, unless you are the admin of that nameserver, it's nothing to worry about: your FreeBSD machines will carefully ignore the nonsensical response and DTRT.
