With 32Mb I would run fvwm/fvwm95 or twm, not big huge things like
KDE and Gnome. Processor speed is not the problem, memory is.
Oh, and don't run mozilla on it but an early version of netscape
(4.7, not 6):

edwin 93931 0.0 20.0 64984 51652 pe S+ Sat01PM 43:20.02 ./mozilla-bin
edwin 80017 2.9 4.8 15160 12380 v0 S 3:40PM 0:01.49 /usr/local/lib/netscape-linux/navigator-linux-4.79.bin -geometry 920
                        ^^^^^^^^^^^ memory

and my window mamager:
edwin 499 0.0 0.5 2456 1192 v0 S Tue03PM 0:53.62 fvwm95
edwin 515 0.0 0.1 1944 376 v0 S Tue03PM 0:00.87 /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fvwm95//FvwmButtons 7 4 .fvwm95rc 0 8
edwin 516 0.0 0.2 1948 620 v0 S Tue03PM 0:13.60 /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fvwm95//FvwmTaskBar 9 4 .fvwm95rc 0 8
