It switched from SMC to UMC in rev.2.4. [switches off flashlight] That's very interesting/confusing. I just re-checked my Asus and it is *also* a rev 2.4 (silkscreened between the I/O slots). And it still has the SMC and not the UMC. So, apparantly the rev of the board is not 1:1 with the chip manufacturer.
