My picture "quality" under XFree 3.2 S3V as opposed to version 3.2A is a bit better. And ever since I backgraded to version 3.2, most of my timeouts have been during multi-sector transfers on wd0. As as work around, I'll try recompiling kernel without multisector on wd0 and see if that puts a stop to my problem. Btw, I downloaded the RZ1000/CD640 test program, but it relies on the test disk being msdos format which mine is not, so I can't test it. But I have looked all over the board and not found these two chips Bernie
