(should have checked my list mailbox first - I already replied to this, but I'll do it again here for the benefit of the list) No, cannot run fetch from the commandline either. I *do* have kernel firewalling support turned on (using the mostly default "client" mode in /etc/rc.firewall. The only thing not default is I added a line to pass ssh connections). I thought this might be part of the problem, but I have not yet tested it. When I get a minute, I'll turn off firewalling to see what happens. However, like I said in the original message, ONE port DID work (don't remember which one), and that was with the same setup. Other than that, no ftp problems or dns problems. -- Michael Maxwell <drwho @ xnet.com> | http://www.xnet.com/~drwho/ -- Stop the illegal attacks on Serbia NOW! -- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
