I've heard of knowledgable poeple who are on ports@ >but not questions@. The conversations on ports@ seem to be mostly concerned with the needs of port maintainers rather than the users of ports. If you have problems getting a port to build or a package added, it feels like the right place to get help. But I'm not sure whether it's the place for questions that come up after the initial install. questions@ seems to be the place for those. I haven't been on either list very long, however, and I could have been misled by a small sample size.
