We're only supporting ELF machines, unfortunately. :( 3.1-RELEASE and 3.2-RELEASE are ELF by default. Anyway I wasn't aware that the a.out-ld isn't build from binutils but is the old BSD-ld. So '--whole-archive' is an issue for 3.x, too. I'll put it on my TODO-list. But please don't expect any results too soon.
