There = is=20 no consensus about the question if a working lt_dlopen is worth having=20 libtool archives installed by all ports which do provide them by default=20 (many do). Some people have suggested to fix libltdl to use FreeBSD's nativ= e=20 dlopen(), however, to my knowledge there have been no patches against liblt= dl=20 as of date and many projects include libltdl in their own sources if they'r= e=20 using it. Also, it should be noted that the prime motivation to remove ".la files" ar= e=20 the warnings from portlint (and sometimes complaints from users/committers= =20 who do not know about libltdl). If those warnings were removed, there would= =20 be no requirement to additionally document anything, IMHO. =2D-=20 ,_, | Michael Nottebrock | lofi@freebsd.org (/^ ^\) | FreeBSD - The Power to Serve | http://www.freebsd.org \u/ | K Desktop Environment on FreeBSD | http://freebsd.kde.org --Boundary-02=_lGNYASiJZ0jJaPI Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Description: signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQBAYNGlXhc68WspdLARAvbTAJ4mppIy1tBPAEEUWNAInv3p5Q38OACeM5M4 pp28X4WNEpZvrfIUP2fJ1W4= =lAJC -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Boundary-02=_lGNYASiJZ0jJaPI--
